May 19 & 20 – Broadway World Award Nominee: ‘Best Cabaret/Concert/Solo Performance’, ‘Best Play’, and ‘Best Solo Production’

Dreams are for losers. MaryLee knows–she’s dreamt of being an actor and writer her whole life and what good has that done?

‘Schmaltzy & Princie: Diary of a Not-So-Great Daddy’s Girl’ has had audiences both laughing and in tears in L.A. and Off-Broadway since its Hollywood premiere in 2022. Now MaryLee Herrmann brings her funny and heart-warming one-woman (plus some quite opinionated inner voices) show to The Dairy Arts Center.

Her daddy (Schmaltzy) offers constant encouragement and support, but MaryLee’s (Princie) real problem is…MaryLee. She’s never been able to wholeheartedly commit to or finish, well, anything.
The cacophony of voices in her head certainly doesn’t help. (Or does it?)

Now in her fifties, and with a Sundance screenwriting competition deadline looming that could be the life-changer she’s always wanted, she clings to Anaïs Nin’s words, “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

With less than three days to “blossom,” (yeah, good luck with that), all MaryLee needs to do is overcome her fears, stop dreaming and start doing, and it all begins with this script.
But they’re called deadlines for a reason—to get it done, some people in her way are going to have to go!

Q&A to follow each night.
For two nights only.
