Past Projects

While on his deathbed in 2005, Mindy Fradkin’s dad gave her his last smile. She saw that he was full of love and free of judgment. This changed her life. They had a difficult relationship, but this moment with her father inspired a revolution. Mindy, also known as “Princess Wow®,” went on to raise awareness to the healing power of a genuine smile. She created a blog, her own radio show, and a Smile album. She produced and performed Smile concerts in Woodstock with the help of her ex-husband, aka her “was-band,” Roland Mousaa. Folk icon Pete Seeger headlined.  Then in the first week of the pandemic, Mindy created an online show to help people smile. The shows featured her large stuffed gecko in a tutu, crocheted “Princess Wow®” dolls crafted in her likeness, and other fantastic surprise guests.

Princess Wow® is a hat designer and the creator of Hat Happenings which received press from the New York Times on the cover of the Style Section. She appeared multiple times on “Good Day New York,” as well as on other news outlets. The features celebrated her fun personality, creativity, remarkable hats, and her joie de vivre.

So, how did Princess Wow® get into the rarified music world? How did she get into making hats? Why did she wear rainbow colors from head to toe and don aqua wigs in the 1990s when everyone else in NYC was wearing black? Come and see her show and learn how Princess Wow used her creativity and spirituality as tools to overcome depression and self-pity and to start a revolution to help people smile!
