Finding JOY is a deeply personal journey by Laura Joy Gold, a 68 year old Jewish, lesbian, singer-songwriter and truth-seeker. Growing up in Concord, Massachusetts and now living in Santa Monica, Laura reflects on the fears, anxieties and patterns of denial that have shaped-and sometimes limited-her experience of joy throughout her life.
Through original music, heartfelt storytelling and evocative photos, she unpacks the emotional and cultural forces that have held her back, asking: What is joy really? How do we reclaim it on our own terms, especially later in life.
This show is not just about finding joy- it’s about redefining it. With honesty, humor and vulnerability, Laura invites the audience along as she navigates memory, identity and hope in search of something deeper and more lasting than happiness: a joy rooted in authenticity.
