What will this webinar cover?

Are you tired of waiting for permission to create? In an increasingly challenging and unpredictable industry climate, the ultimate antidote to stagnation is to stop waiting and start creating; to take control of your own narrative. Join award-winning multi-hyphenate artist Rheagan Wallace for an empowering, inside look at the art of creating solo theatre. Whether you are an actor feeling stuck, a writer looking to step onto the stage, or a storyteller ready to turn complex personal history into a cohesive script, this webinar bridges the gap between high-level career autonomy and deep, vulnerable craft. Rheagan will break down the creative and practical tools you need to establish fierce boundaries for your writing time, mine your real-life experiences, and safely metabolize profound loss and complicated family dynamics into art. Learn how to capture real people on the page and transform your deepest personal truths into an exceptional, engaging, and entertaining stage production. Stop waiting for the phone to ring; take the reins, find hope in your art, and give it back by telling your story on your own terms.

Here are a few of the main talking points we will cover!

Taking the Reins (Combating Industry Stagnation): Moving from an actor waiting to be chosen to an active creator taking control of your own narrative. We will discuss how to combat industry gloom and doom by self-producing, mining your life for your story, and creating actionable boundaries to prioritize your writing time and fiercely commit to your own artistic path.

Art as the Antidote (The Necessity of Hope): Why storytelling is vital during dark, uncertain times. This point explores how to maintain creative optimism when the world feels bleak, and why your unique voice is an essential sanctuary for communal healing.

Metabolizing Grief into Art: Practical, safe, and powerful strategies for mining deep personal history, complicated family dynamics, and profound loss. Following the loss of her mother in May of 2024, Rheagan began writing STAGE MAMMA in January 2025, using the script as a vital engine for her own grieving process. In this section, you will learn how she unpacked her own complex grief, how to safely write about real-life experiences and capture real people who actually exist in your life, and how to find healing through storytelling without sacrificing the entertainment value of your script or performance of it.

Who is your Soaring Solo Guest Artist Workshop Instructor?

Meet Rheagan!

Rheagan Wallace is a Texas-born, LA-based actor, writer, filmmaker, comedian, and activist who has been a professional TV and Film actor since before she could spell the word “audition.” Starting her career in Dallas with Walker, Texas Ranger, Rheagan soon became a familiar face in Hollywood, landing memorable roles on beloved TV series such as Malcolm in the Middle, That’s So Raven, 7th Heaven, ER, and NYPD Blue, as well as feature films like the cult-classic Six-String Samurai and Texas favorite Deep in the Heart.

Drawing from her lifelong industry roots, Rheagan expanded into solo theatre as the creator and performer of the award-winning, critically acclaimed STAGE MAMMA: From Child Star to Leading Lady. The production won Best One-Woman Show at the 2026 United Solo Theatre Festival in New York City, alongside multiple other festival distinctions across Los Angeles, Fort Worth, and Las Vegas. The show explores the dizzying highs and crushing lows of child stardom through Rheagan’s eyes and chronicles her unique coming-of-age, starting from a small town in Texas to navigating the high-stakes world of LA, all under the relentless guidance of her unforgettable mother, Silvia; a true “Stage Mamma.” She embodies over 30 different characters, from the tenacious Silvia to industry players and younger versions of herself. Blending intimate storytelling with actual 8mm home video footage, she creates a dynamic multimedia theatre experience that brings the past vividly, sometimes painfully, and often hilariously, into the present live on stage.

In addition to touring and developing STAGE MAMMA, Rheagan recently co-created and starred in Subjugate, a short film based on stories literally ripped from the headlines about Texas women’s experiences with the state’s restrictions on reproductive healthcare, earning a win for Best Short Women Empowerment Film at the 2025 London Women’s Film Festival, alongside nominations for Best Actress in a Short and Best Human Rights Short at the 2025 LA Independent Women Film Awards. Rheagan also recently won the Vanguard Award at the 2026 Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema for Best Actress in a Featurette for her work in Mary Lou Sandler’s satirical film WELL(NESS), a woman-led comedy where she plays a reluctant, tech-obsessed gamer navigating a wellness retreat gone hilariously wrong.
