Step into history with Thurgood, George Stevens Jr.’s powerful one-man play that charts the extraordinary life of civil rights icon and Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. From his early days as a young lawyer fighting segregation to his landmark victories before the Supreme Court, this gripping drama illuminates the courage, wit, and unwavering resolve of a man who reshaped the American legal landscape.
In this intimate LA premiere performance, Michael Anthony Tatmon commands the stage as Marshall, inviting audiences into the justice’s memories, battles, and private reflections with warmth, humor, and disarming honesty. Through his dynamic performance, the past feels immediate and alive, revealing the human being behind the legend.
Directed by internationally acclaimed director Dr. Prodan Dimov, this production brings a vivid theatrical vision to Marshall’s story, balancing emotional intensity with moments of levity and insight. Together, Tatmon and Dimov create an unforgettable evening of theater that is as entertaining as it is enlightening.
Thurgood is more than a history lesson; it is a celebration of resilience, a testament to the power of one voice, and a stirring reminder of the ongoing struggle for justice in America today.
