Karin Trachtenberg, talented member of the Soaring Solo community, is an Official Selection of the 2026 LA Women’s Theatre Festival with her one person show “MY MOTHER HAD TWO FACES”. Karin will join this festival in the “RELATIVELY SPEAKING” program.
This year’s LAWTF program is entitled: “THE STRENGTH WE CARRY” and presents 6 programs from March 26-29, 2026. Performers will include actors, dancers, vocalists, and storytellers.
LAWTF has been empowering voices of solo female performers for 33 Years.
Festivities begin on Thursday, March 26, 2026 with our Champagne GALA and Awards Ceremony that honors powerful female voices in theatre.

Karin seeks closure and comfort in accepting her mother’s vulnerabilities, strengths, and imperfections through her mirrored reflection.
Karin Trachtenberg is a Boston-based classically trained actress, writer, and filmmaker whose work explores identity, memory, and the complex emotional terrain between mothers and daughters. Her acclaimed solo show My Mother Had Two Faces premiered in Los Angeles and went on to tour internationally, including sold-out performances at United Solo Off-Broadway and a full run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Praised for its emotional honesty and theatrical precision, the show has resonated with audiences across generations. Karin is honored to bring this edited version of My Mother Had Two Faces back to Los Angeles. In addition to her work on stage, Karin is an award-winning filmmaker focused on women-centered storytelling that sparks dialogue around family, identity, and compassion. Her short films have screened at festivals across the US and she is the recipient of a 2025 Massachusetts Cultural Council Creative Individuals Grant.
